I have had four operations with Dr John limbers. All were done in a Higley professional manner. My recovery time and pain relief was in a minimal time. I strongly recommend Dr John Limbers and his team to everyone.

I had a total hip replacement 7 weeks ago and am delighted with the results. I was walking with a stick on the day after the operation. Back doing aqua aerobics after 5 weeks and am now walking with confidence although I use my stick outside. The whole experience has exceeded my expectations. Dr Limbers and his team made sure I was well informed with additional material to refer to. A slight blip (a sore throat) was dealt with sensitively and a new date for my operation was given within 3 weeks of the first date. I would highly recommend Dr Limbers and his team.

I had a full knee replacement 6 weeks ago, after years pain, and found the whole experience impressive. I was walking unassisted within a week and plan to return to work on week 7. I can thoroughly recommend Dr Limbers and his team as well as the 360 physio program which assisted in my recovery.

Very pleased with total knee replacement via robotic surgery. The new knee is pain free and my mobility is greatly improved 6 weeks after the operation. I have been assured that the improvement in functionality will continue for the next 6-12 months, so all in all an excellent result.

Twelve years after my first TKR, you can understand my apprehension whenI was told I needed a second TKR. The SAN introduced me to Dr.John Limbers and he recommended the MACRO ROBOTIC TKR. Allelujia!! what a difference 12 years can make. Different Surgeon and different Method. Consequently, a quicker recovery and faster mobility. Thanks so much to the professional skills endowed to Dr. J. Limbers and his friendly and jovial manner. Will certainly recommend him to my dear and suffering friends. Anita Curtis

I suffered for many years with knee pain, that affected my quality of life. Finally, in desperation, I asked my very helpful GP Dr Howard Oxley to refer me to the best Orthopedic Surgeon he knew in my area ! My GP did a great and wonderful service in referring me to Dr John Limbers !My experience right from my first interview with Dr John Limbers, last interview and all surgical procedures in hospital was 'first class'.Initially, Dr Limbers demonstrated the Mako Robotic knee surgery procedure, and asked me if I would like to take part in the 360 Patient Partner Program he has introduced for patients pre and post surgery physiotherapy needs.A wonderful 360 Patient Partner Program physiotherapist Denise Korhonen took me through the 8 week program via virtual video daily exercises and bi-weekly interviews with great care, professional advice. and kind attention. The program also supplied a free Garmin watch, and an inflatable knee unit for applying ice packs post surgery.I can highly recommend the 360 Patient Partner Program Dr Limbers advises to patients, as well as sincere gratitude to the nurses and physiotherapists of Gosford Private Hospital who looked after me so kindly and professionally. The result ? At 78, after 6 weeks, I am now walking 'Prince' my precious Welsh Corgi over 4,000 steps a day, including gardening, and daily duties all without pain, and without a stick !!Thank you Dr John Limbers, Denise Korhonen, and GP Dr Howard Oxley from a very satisfied patient.Harold Gibbs JP

I have had three operations with John limbers. Each operation has had exceptional results. The latest being a total knee replacement.which has had great results. I can highly recommend John from the beginning to the end. The other two operations involved pins and plates and I would not know there was ever anything wrong.

I had a full knee replacement due to severe arthritis 7 weeks ago " Robotic Procedure"" and I must say the whole experience has been very positive. Impressed with Dr Limbers expertise and along with his team and physio 360 program I am now able to return to work next week in a primary school setting. I would highly recommend Dr Limbers and will definitely be getting him to do the other knee next year.

I had both hips replaced (10 weeks apart) by Dr Limbers and have had excellent results with both. Additionally, the recovery time was very short.Dr Limbers is not only a superior surgeon but he is also conscientious, visiting every day while I was in hospital. I now have two perfect hips that will last me the rest of my life. Highly recommended!

I was really impressed with the Dr Limbers and the way he addressed my meniscus injury. I had this injury which required surgery. I feel so good after the surgery and cannot thank him enough.I was initially advised by someone else that I would not require surgery after reviewing my MRI and would be fine after a few weeks, 8 weeks had past with no change to the pain in my leg and knee area. Thankfully a visit to Dr Limbers saved me the agony or continuing with the injury, two weeks later the surgery was carried out and I am a new man ! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you Sir !

Dr Limbers did my TRH in Jan 2020.I would 110% concur with all the 5/5 previous reviews; Dr John is not only a great surgeon but his 'bed side manner' at the referral, in surgery, immediate post-op check, and 6 week follow-up where exceptional. Don't get me wrong, you should choose a surgeon on skill and results but the non-tangible comes into it too. In my case, I am very technically oriented and cross check everything at work and home. No different here; I consulted three surgeons and although they were all good, Dr John out scored them not only technically but also on the human side so that I felt comfortable to ask technical and medical questions more than adequately. He listened carefully to not only my questions but also my suggestions for certain types of prosthetics that he happily gave me pros and cons for.Another thing to consider - although Dr John is good he knows he can do better ... by using a robot (Mako) as part of the surgery; it assists in getting the position as correct as possible. He will explain better than I, but it is a no brainer that a technical or medical person should use the best tools available to them. If they can get better accuracy and a better result, costs considered, then why not use it? This was one of my main criteria was to find a surgeon that used a Mako robot to assist and get the 'replacement parts' put into the right angle, distance and length. I wanted as close as possible a natural result as I am young and do a lot of sports with my kids - Dr Johns achieved that in spades. I am very pleased.

I recently had my right knee replaced by Dr John Limbers, and found the whole procedure from beginning to end highly professional. Dr Limbers “Robotic Procedure” replaced my knee in 1 hr. Pain management was excellent, I had minimal swelling, and I was up and moving around much faster than I thought would be possible - & I’m 86 years young -:). Within 4 weeks, having followed my exercise/physiotherapy plan I’m walking up & down steps independently (no walking aidrequired or assistance). I can’t speak highly enough of DrLimbers & his knee replacement procedure. I found him to be a very caring man, & his staff happy & caring which helped me feel more relaxed and supported through a rather anxious time.

August 2015 I had bunion surgery. Was told to be at Wyong hospital 7.30am I’d be one of the first to be done, living in western Sydney I left home at 5am, nothing to eat or drink from night before, it turned out to be a hot day and I’m still waiting to be done at 5pm still with nothing to eat or drink, only to be told Dr Limbers will have to cancel your operation as he is running behind. Was called up 2weeks later same thing, arrived there early wasn’t taken in till afternoon never saw Dr Limber at all, I have since read at the time I was having my op he was having a heart bypass, no wonder I didn’t see him he wasn’t there. On my last appointment with him at Gosford hospital before the operation I was told bunion removal large toe fusion and a pin in toe next to large toe. Obviously there was no communication between whoever did the operation as there are staples at base of all my other toes causing them to be fused Because of this it has altered the length of my stride, and the way I walk, I can’t bend my toes because they are all fused, why on earth this was done I’ll never know.Would I recommend Dr LimbersWhat do you think?

I had a Total Knee Replacement with Dr Limbers nearly 7 weeks ago, and found the experience much more pleasant than I had expected. Before the operation he explained the process to me very thoroughly, also referring me to a pre and post-op physiotherapist, at no cost to myself, who monitored my progress each day via a video link, setting and tailoring to my specific needs a very useful exercise regime.I have no hesitation whatever in recommending Dr Limbers, whom I found to be highly professional, courteous and very likeable.

Hi, I am 67 and I felt I should share some info for others who may be considering a TKR.If you are living with knee pain and restricted movement related to the deterioration of the knee joint, I was. I was in considerable pain and it was affecting my movement and quality of life even driving and sleeping. I was referred to Dr Limbers and before attending I did my research (Dr Google) and found that Surgeons that have use the Mako Robotic System found it to be extremely precise (no guesswork) in positioning the knee and a lot less invasive which related to a quicker recovery for the patient.Dr Limbers spent time explaining all the Pros and Cons and I felt at ease when deciding to go ahead with the TKR op.I was operated on me 7/1/20.The pain after op is considerable but controlled be medication and the Physiothrapist will have you up the next day, it’s not easy but no pain no gain. I made a conscious decision before the op to apply myself after.Progress is a little slow and painful for the first few weeks but it gets better each week after. I now at week 6, still have some pain but very manageable. What I found extremely helpful for me was I joined a local Gym at week 4 and used the Gym bike no weight, it got the knee working well, for me it was a game changer.Good luck to those who are considering a TKR with the Mako system, I believe it’s the only way to go.Cheers Richard

Dr John Limbers what a Surgeon. I had a Mako Robitic Hip Replacement. All steps were explained. Fantastic that a Surgeon keeps up to date with new technology. 2 days in Hospital back to work in 1 week on light duties. All questions were answered regarding aftercare, he makes you feel at ease that nothing is a silly question and you are important. What a Credit to your profession. Keep up the good work. Thankyou Denise

I went to Doctor John Limbers for a total knee replacement in November 2019. Today marks twelve weeks since the surgery and I am happy to say that I am pain and medication free. I have returned to full time work and am enjoying experiences that we often take for granted such as a walk along the beach or a trip to the shops. Prior to surgery such ventures were met with pain and a high level of personal frustration, not to mention lots of medication to control the constant pain.I found Dr Limbers to have a professional and caring nature. From my very first consultation, to his daily visits while I was in hospital and then my follow up consultation. I felt my needs were valued and supported with every question I put to him answered in detail.I must also add that my anaesthetist, Dr Gray certainly put my mind at ease giving me a bit of a pep talk when I informed him of my ‘possible unrealistic’ fear of the anaesthetic process. The reception girls were wonderful and very friendly and the staff at Gosford Private, in the ward and in rehab were exceptional in their care and professionalism. All round Dr Limbers and his team made my journey as professional and comfortable as possible and I would highly recommend them for orthopaedic surgery.

Dr John Limbers is an excellent surgeon, with a friendly and caring personality. He explains all the details of the surgery in an easy to understand language. I previously had bilateral knee replacement by John with fantastic results, it has been eleven years with no problems. My hip replacement in November was a breeze, back at home in 3 days, an outstanding recovery. I would recommend John Limbers to anyone who wants to have the best surgical experience.

A few months ago Dr Limbers completed my ankle surgery - he was, and continues to be, excellent. From the beginning he was open and clear about the process, he supported me through my surgery and continues to throughout my recovery. He is an excellent surgeon - if i ever have the need I would absolutely return to Dr Limbers.

Dr John Limbers performed my husbands knee replacement surgery and our family cannot recommend him highly enough. Both him and his surgery staff have been brilliant in their communications during this procedure and Dr Limbers is a highly skilled surgeon with an outstanding level of care. We Have since referred many friends to John for treatment and all have been as equally satisfied and pleased with their results.

The staff at Dr Limbers place at Gosford are friendly. He looked after my right hip replacement and I was out of hospital in 4 days and had great movement by 2 weeks. I was 64 at the time. I liked the way he explained the details of the operation and the follow-up was good. I will be going back to John to have the other hip done down the track. John has a very professional manner, but he is busy and has rare lapses in his people skills just as I do. I go to him for his skill as a surgeon.

September 2019: just had my follow up for an achilles repair and I’m very happy with my progress. Dr. Limbers has helped me advance my recovery much quicker than expected by stitching up my achilles, and I’ve tested his work a couple of time with awkward falls.. I’m ahead of where I expected to be right now and very thankful for his excellent work. If you want a good surgeon who makes top notch repairs, can’t recommend Dr John Limbers enough!

I recently had my total hip replacement operation performed by Dr Limbers. Dr Limbers was very approachable and explained the operation very clearly before it was performed. The result was amazing - far beyond my expectations. He managed my post-op care to such an extent that I was virtually pain-free. Two months post-op and I am now able to do many things that I was unable to do before the operation. Before the operation, I had difficulty walking at times because of the pain. I am now completely pain-free. I chose Dr Limbers as my surgeon because of the excellent recommendations I had received from previous patients. I was not disappointed.

I didn't get a chance to speak to the Doctor, however the secretary was very rude and abrupt. I am in the extremely difficult situation and was seeking an urgent assistance from the Doctor, however the same secretary tried to mislead me saying the Doctor doesn't work with the Public patients and it was obvious lie, then she was trying to talk over me without giving me a chance to say a word and after completing her monolog she just, without the warning, hang up the phone. I hope the Doctor has more manners and he is more professional than his staff.

Called, they asked for all my details.. name, DOB, injury, etc. Was then made to email my referral letter then waited TWO WEEKS for them to call me back to actually make an appointment. When I called to ask about it in between I was just told that I would be called back "once I"m in the system".Then at the time of call back I was then told it would be a FOUR MONTH wait to get that appointment.. no mention of this wait was given at my first call. I was politely asked to bring any scans with me... those scans would then be four months out of date.. and they cost $250.. so I would no doubt need new scans at that time as well.I waited two weeks with an ankle I can't walk on properly, during which time I could have gone back to my GP and found a more available doctor. No sympathy or comments whatsoever from the receptionist that this was not logical, no apology for the time I waited to hear back, no apology that they didn't tell me about the wait on my first call.I expect the doctor is very good, but I will never know, because I can't get in to see him. He should fire all his reception staff at least.
